2025-07 NCARC Meeting Minutes

The July meeting of The North Country Amateur Radio Club was called to order by David Pechey, WX2CIB, Club President at 1812L.

The meeting was held at the Potsdam Village Community Room. There were 13 voting members in attendance.

Old Business:

  • 2025 Field Days - A post-event discussion was held. Among the suggestions were:
  • Bandpass Filters for each station
  • Use the 1000’ rule and spread stations out, and have the pavilion as a central area.
  • Get screenhouses/tents for stations due to yearly tyrannosaurus mosquitoes.
  • Go to the different organizations to invite government and public service officials.
  • Set up at a more visited/populated area like the Potsdam Farmer’s Market.
  • Having the talk-in station was great
  • Activate The Adirondacks - September 12-14, 2025
  • Awaiting more details from the NNY Section
  • Last VE Session Until Fall - July 19, 2025
  • Junior Carp Tournament - August 1&2, 2025 - Please see Bob, KD2QLH, if you would like to help.

New Business - SUNY Canton First Responder Expo - August 15, 2025 - Will be running WInLink station & sending radiograms for attendees. Camp participants are grades 6-9, but the event is open to the public. - NNY FlDigi Net - 2nd Monday of the month at +/- 7.065 MHz Motion to adjourn by Virginia Reed, NR2V. Seconded by George Oshier, N2JNZ. Unanimous.
