2025-08 NCARC Meeting Minutes

The August meeting of The North Country Amateur Radio Club was called to order by David Pechey, WX2CIB, Club President at 18:04 L.

The meeting was held at the Potsdam Village Community Room. There were 11 voting members in attendance.

Treasurer’s Report - As of tonight, $529

Old Business:

• Field Day - Testimonial that the poster and experience worked to bring in an inactive operator back to the hobby. We received a QSL card.
• Activate The Adirondacks - September 12-14, 2025
• Awaiting more details from the NNY Section
• Junior Carp Tournament - August 1&2, 2025
• Use of the CHMC radio as cross-band repeater may help with coverage
• SUNY Canton First Responder Expo - August 15, 2025
• Will be running WinLink station & sending radiograms for attendees. Camp participants are in grades 6-9, but the event is open to the public.
• This morning’s class went well. VEs watch for younger testers.
• Logo designs - New Business:
• Club banner - Make smaller ARES/RACES logos or remove
• Project ideas - Meshtastic
• Contact KD2GUD (Chris Nichols) & W2SLK (Nate)
• Club Call Trustee
• We have about a year, but the current trustee would like someone else to assume responsibility.

Upcoming Events - NNY FlDigi Net - 2nd Monday of the month at +/- 7.065 MHz Q-Net - Nightly - St. Lawrence County Emergency - 1st & 3rd Tuesday @ 18:00L - Activate The Adirondacks - September 12-14, 2025 - Jamboree On The Air - October 17-19 - VE Session - October 25, 2025
